Effective Date: August 2, 2026
Last Updated: August 2, 2026
Applies to: United States and Canada
1. If something has gone wrong
Write to hello@mybirthbridge.com. One address, whatever the problem is. You do not need to work out which team you need, and you do not need to use the right words.
Tell us what happened, what you would like to happen now, and anything that would help us look into it. If it is urgent, or if you are worried about your safety, say so at the top.
In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. We are not monitored in real time.
2. What we do, and when
| Step | When |
|---|---|
| We confirm we received it | Within 2 business days |
| We tell you who is looking at it and what we need from you | Within 5 business days |
| We give you an answer | Within 30 days |
| If we need longer, we tell you why and give you a date | Before those 30 days are up |
Privacy requests — access, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawing consent — follow Section 9 of the Privacy Policy. We answer those within 30 days, which is faster than most laws require.
We will not treat you differently for complaining. Not in your account, not in search results, not in how we answer you next time.
3. Appealing a decision about your account
If we have removed content, restricted a feature, suspended you, or closed your account, you can appeal. So can you if we refused a privacy request.
How. Reply to the message telling you the decision, or write to hello@mybirthbridge.com with "Appeal" in the subject.
What happens.
- Someone who did not make the original decision reviews it. That is the point of an appeal.
- We look at anything new you give us, and at what we relied on the first time.
- We answer within 30 days. For a privacy request refusal, within 45 days, and we tell you how to escalate if we say no again.
- We tell you the actual reason. If we uphold the decision, you get the reasons, not a form letter. Where we cannot give full detail — because it would reveal another person's information or compromise a safety investigation — we say that is why.
While an appeal is open, we will not delete your data where the appeal concerns your account, so that we can restore it if we were wrong. Where a suspension was for a safety reason, it usually stays in place while we review.
If we got it wrong, we say so and we put it back. No conditions attached.
4. Disputes with a professional, or with a family
Disagreements about services, cancellations, refunds, or quality are between the family and the professional. BirthBridge is not a party to that arrangement and we are not the decision maker.
What we can do: help you reach each other, share what the booking record shows, and act on conduct that breaks our rules.
What we cannot do: order a refund, decide who is right, or compel anyone to do anything.
This does not limit your rights. Nothing here takes away any right you have under consumer protection law, and it does not stop you going to your payment provider, a regulator, or a court. Schedule B3 of the Terms sets this out for Canada.
5. If we cannot resolve it
You do not have to accept our answer, and you do not have to come to us first.
United States
- Your state Attorney General, for consumer protection and privacy.
- The Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- For a professional's conduct, their state licensing board or certifying organization.
- Terms Section 20 covers formal disputes, including arbitration and your right to opt out of it within 30 days.
Canada
- The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376, for privacy.
- Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, cai.gouv.qc.ca or 1-888-528-7741.
- Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, oipc.ab.ca. Of British Columbia, oipc.bc.ca.
- Your provincial consumer protection authority.
- For a registered midwife, the regulatory college in your province.
- You are not required to arbitrate, and you keep your right to join a class proceeding. Schedule B of the Terms.
6. Accessibility
If any part of this process is hard to use, tell us and we will find another way — including answering by phone, or in a different format. See our Accessibility Statement.
If you would rather write in French or Spanish, do. We will answer in the same language.
