My name is Shakila Marando, founder of DOULAS by the BAY. I’m a mother of two and have supported children and families for over 25 years. For the past 16 years, I’ve dedicated my work to serving families as a doula, supporting them through pregnancy, birth, and the newborn stage. My passion is helping parents feel seen, supported, and confident.

I am a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula, Lactation Counselor, Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), Doula Educator, New Parent Educator, Trained Infant Massage Educator, and Infant Sleep Consultant.

I also lead a trusted team of doulas who share my commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care. Together, we’ve supported over 3,000 families. All doulas are certified, vetted, background screened, CPR trained, HIPAA certified, and covered by Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance. With ongoing mentorship, our team provides safe, reliable, heart-centered care to every family we serve.
