My name is Aura Santaella I’m the founder of Your Lactation Journey. I’m a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Throughout my nursing career for the last 11 years I have always supported and educated breastfeeding mothers in their breastfeeding journey in my work in pediatrics. My experience includes working as a bedside RN in pediatric critical care including PICU and NICU. My nursing career has always revolved around supporting my patients and their mothers in their lactation journey. With my NP experience, I practiced in a pediatric clinic, where I incorporated 1:1 lactation support to all the mother-baby breastfeeding dyads who needed it. I’m a mother to 3 children, all of whom were breastfed and all of whom were born tongued tie. So I’m very familiar with the learning curve, the struggles, as well as the victories (both small and big) related to breastfeeding. My first born were twins, and my littlest was a singleton. With both births my children were in the NICU for a short time, so breastfeeding was a transition, a learning process, and not something that just came naturally. Every breastfeeding experience is unique. I'm here to support, teach, & embrace you in yours and your baby's breastfeeding journey.
