Amanda Nelson Doula

Amanda (she/her) is a DONA trained birth doula and longtime caregiver for families. Amanda has a history of working in music education, as a nanny, an infant teacher, and a children and families programming director. She was drawn to the world of fertility and birth after navigating a personal journey with infertility and with the assistance of IVF was able to have two successful pregnancies resulting in the birth of her two sons.

Amanda is thrilled to have the opportunity to support other growing families in the profound beauty and challenges that encompass pregnancy, birth, and parenting. She strives to honor your unique journey and preferences while offering non- judgmental support that respects your decisions and desires. Whether you are planning a home birth, a hospital birth, or anything in between her goal is to empower you with information, encouragement, and advocacy every step of the way!

Outside of doula work, Amanda loves living and parenting in the city and on any given day you can find her enjoying a workout, singing in a choir, decorating sugar cookies, or riding the brown line with her train loving 5- and 2-year-old sons. When she’s lucky enough to have a babysitter her happy place is going to a concert with her husband and continuing her search to find the best cinnamon roll in Chicago.
