A Sacred Passage

Following ancient traditions of postpartum care, having birthed four children myself, I have been certified to offer services that gently ease women through their final stage of birth: Motherhood. It is my call to help women to be WELCOMED and HONORED through gentle + loving care. Mother Roasting is the care of the new mother after birth, and the recovery and health of women as they embark on their journey into Motherhood. It is the tender wrapping up of a new mother's body during her first few weeks after birth. It is about restoring traditions of various cultures. New Mothers are given warm, nourishing beverages to sip. In India new mothers are given daily warm oil massages to help soothe strained abdominal muscles, reduce bleeding and enhance the body’s healing efforts towards the womb. In Guatemala new mothers are given bajos with abdominal massage, which is a Mayan tradition.Feeding the soul with nourishment and warming the body both physically and internally it is believed to seal the gateways which have been opened by the birth, and to keep wind and cold from entering a vulnerable New Mother's body. Thus through warmth a New Mother is honored and given time to recuperate her body from the birth process, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The month after giving birth is called "The Golden Month" in Chinese medicine, and it is the art of bringing together Ceremony, Wisdom and Culture during your fourth trimester. Supporting the Mother PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY and SPIRITUALLY.
